Top Destinations around Kanha National Park (Part Two)


In our previous post, we mentioned about the sightseeing places in and around Kanha National Park for our tourists. There are many more places where in tourist could enjoy their day out. Here we have mentioned other places where in sight seeing could be really amazing and unique experience.

Bhoremdeo TemplesBhoremdeo Temples: Built by Naga King Ramchandra in the 11th Century along the banks of Pushpa Sarovar Lake, Bhoremdeo Temple is 18 km on the road to Raipur. The carvings on the walls of these temples can be compared to the same in Khajuraho, Orrisa.  Radha Krishna Temple, Mandwa Mahal, and Madan Manjari Mahal are collectively referred to as the Bhoremdeo Temples.



 Madan Mahal Fort: Located in a small town in Jabalpur, this fort was built by the Gond tribes during the eleventh century. It is one of the most ancient forts in India and it was constructed by them to keep an eye on invaders.



Rani Durgavati Museum: Rani Durgavati was the queen of the Gond Tribe, the museum was built in her commemoration. The museum has is display many ancient cultural relics, sandstone replica of Goddess Durga and an image of Yogini. A sandstone replica of Lord Shiva and his wife Goddess Parvati playing a game of Chausar is well maintained and is highlight of the museum.



Tilwara Ghat
Tilwara Ghat: One of the famous ghats in Jabalpur, Tilwara Ghat has its name mentioned in History for numerous reasons. It is also one of the places where the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi were immersed.  Tilwadeshwar (Mahadev) Temple is located here.
